Hum

After driving past this huge dilapidated old house several times in the past few weeks, I was intrigued and had to stop in for a visit. Turns out it's a heritage site and the owners are renovating. At the moment they just serve coffee (Kokako) and slices, but they are planning exciting things for this place - apparently the kitchen will be open in about 6 months and it'll be a cafe, restaurant, bar & venue. What a massive (extra curricular?) project! In the meantime you can pick a couch on the veranda and chill out with a flat white.

Look out for Issue 5!

Any day now folks! It'll be available for pre-sale from today, and (fingers crossed) back from the printers on Friday night, getting packed up over the weekend and posted on Monday 29th.

Handmade for Christchurch

Sitting Bunny pendant by Vaune Mason
This little guy and a whole heap of other handmade items have been donated by crafters and artists to raise money for the Christchurch Earthquake relief effort - all proceeds going to the Womens Refuge & The Salvation Army. Head to Handmade for Christchurch.

First Thursdays again!

Wander down to St Kevin's Arcade in K Road this Thursday evening... while browsing the craft market you can listen to live classical music followed by window box opera, as well as check out dance performances - sounds intriguing! Iron Bank, Cross St, Verona Cafe, Le Gonda Arcade and Te Karanga are all joining in the fun too with heaps of great events throughout the evening, which runs from 6 - 9pm.
